YMCA of Frederick County makes membership accessible for everyone
Freezes membership rates for 2021, lower age for senior membership to 55+, and reduces joining fees
The YMCA of Frederick County knows that 2020 was a rough year for everyone, including the nonprofit itself.
As a membership organization, approximately one-third of the Y’s budget comes from family and individual memberships. During 2020, membership decreased by 45%, significantly impacting operations.
To express appreciation and gratitude for all the support members demonstrated to the YMCA by maintaining their membership during the pandemic there are NO fee increases to current FULL FACILITY membership categories in 2021 AND the senior member age was lowered to 55+, plus implementing a REDUCTION in joining fees in some categories for new members.
The YMCA strengthens the fabric of our community by ensuring that EVERYONE has access to resources, relationships, and opportunities to lead, learn, grow, and thrive. These programs are needed more than ever to keep our community healthy in body, mind, and spirit.
Thanks to generous contributions to the Y Annual Campaign, the YMCA welcomes everyone, regardless of financial circumstance. If you have any questions about membership benefits, rates, or the financial assistance program, please contact a member services team member.
