School-Age Education at the YMCA of Frederick County
Ages: Kindergarten – 5th Grade
Our School Age before and aftercare programs (BASE) are designed to be theme-based with a variety of important tools necessary for child development and cognitive growth such as social-emotional stimuli, educational and extracurricular enrichment, and most importantly, opportunities for imaginative exploration! Students who participate in our programs experience enrichment programs in one of several categories (physical activity, STEAM, arts and humanities, or agriculture/nature) that change every few weeks. Also, the full day, full week, and after-school sessions are filled with opportunities for adolescent growth and advancement of essential physical, academic, and social skills. Students within our BASE program are challenged to becoming conceptual thinkers and problem solvers through teacher assistance, personal investigation, and team-building activities. Overall, we focus on educating and impacting the whole child and strive each day to make a lasting, positive impact on youth within our BASE program.
All proper health and safety protocols will continue to be taken.
