The YMCA of Frederick County offers a wide variety of programs for youth, teens, and adults across Frederick County, including art, dance, theatre, music, and cooking programs.

The Y offers youth and adults the opportunity to explore the arts, express their creativity, and take risks in a safe and encouraging environment. From art studios to the stage, our programs range from introductory classes to public performances. Our Y Arts Center (YAC) is a 20,000 square foot hub for creativity and unparalleled performance opportunities in downtown Frederick’s heart!

Gallery 115

Gallery 115 is a new non-profit Contemporary Art Gallery, a subsidiary of the Y Arts Center, located in a newly renovated historic building in downtown Frederick, Maryland. Our focus is to exhibit an eclectic range of artworks by artists residing in the Mid-Atlantic States. Frederick, Maryland is located less than one hour from Washington, D.C, and Baltimore and boasts a walkable and thriving downtown area with a variety of unique specialty shops, restaurants, galleries, museums, and theaters.

Rula Jones is currently the Curator of Contemporary Art at Gallery 115 at the Y. She has over twenty years of experience in the Visual Arts in various roles. Her previous experience includes guest curating at several organizations in the Washington DC area, including the Griffin Art Center, the Black and White Gallery, and the Mclean Project for the Arts. She has also held faculty positions at various notable institutions including The Corcoran College of Art + Design, The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and Maryland Institute College of Art.
