National Cancer Prevention Month – Get Moving!

National Cancer Prevention MonthAccording to research, 4 out of 10 cancer cases in the United States are associated with preventable risk factors. Excess body weight, poor diet, and physical inactivity are factors that contribute to increased cancer risk – and for National Cancer Prevention Month, the Y wants to remind you that we’re here to help! No matter where you are on your health and wellness journey, the YMCA of Frederick County is here for you every step of the way! Fitness Orientation

From a youth orientation to eGym Orientations, our staff will ensure you feel comfortable at the Y.  Scheduled at a convenient time, dedicated Y staff will introduce you to fitness equipment and connect you with the right people and programs. Taking it one step further, we have secaTRU body scanners and Fitness Assessments to assess your current health and wellness, help you understand your fitness strengths and limitations, and work with you to develop goals!

Group Fitness/Exercise Classes

National Cancer Prevention MonthFrom Zumba to Aqua Aerobics, HIIT training to yoga, the YMCA of Frederick County offers a variety of group fitness/exercise classes for adults, seniors, and even youth! Focus on your health and wellness in a supportive group setting and reach your fitness goals!  Members can even access fitness classes from home using YMCA360.

Personal Training

Each person’s health and wellness goals are unique, and the Y realizes customized workout plans may be necessary. A personal trainer can help any individual, regardless of where they are in their health and wellness journey.
