2022 Send A Kid to Camp Campaign
Give the gift of YMCA Summer Camp, where kids learn, discover, and stay active!
Summertime here at the Y is truly a magical time of year and a great way to see our mission at work through our summer camp program. In the next nine weeks, we will be providing kids in our community with close to 7,000 weeks of camp where they can build new friendships, explore the outdoors and discover more about themselves.
Our summer camp experiences promote physical well-being, help children gain important social skills, and bridge summer learning loss. We believe that regardless of age, income, or background, every child should have the opportunity to attend camp at the Y, but we need your help.
- Kid’s Unlimited Camp is a wonderful camp experience for children with special needs. Campers are divided into groups based on developmental abilities and participate in enrichment and inclusion activities with general Y camps.
- Leadership and Summer Serve Camps for Teens prepare teens for the next stages in their life by providing opportunities to serve, lead and discover their passions.
- Camp West Mar is a 72-acre property in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains. Campers experience outdoor adventures like archery, canoeing, hiking and rope courses. This camp provides an optional overnight experience.
Our Send a Kid to Camp campaign helps kids, especially underserved youth, attend a camp where they are introduced to new experiences that build confidence and develop skills to help them reach their full potential.
This summer, we plan to provide $150,000 of financial assistance to children at Y summer camp, regardless of their families’ financial position.
“If it wasn’t for the generosity of those that support Send a Kid to Camp, my son would not be able to return to camp this summer; Y camps make all the difference for him.”
Please help us give a summer camp experience to EVERY child this summer.
