As our Community Coordinator, Michael serves as a mentor and go-to resource for the Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) programs. His journey with the YMCA has been one of dedication, growth, and a deep commitment to youth and community—showing how rewarding a career at the Y can be.
From Aide to Leader: A Career Built on Growth and Opportunity
Michael’s story with the YMCA began in an entry-level role as an Aide. Driven by hard work and supported by the YMCA’s commitment to career development, he steadily advanced into roles of greater responsibility. Today, as a Community Coordinator, Michael not only mentors youth but also provides guidance and support to the staff across his school sites.
Reflecting on his journey, Michael shares, “Since starting as an Aide, the YMCA has helped me grow professionally, giving me the confidence to handle challenges and grow as a leader. Now, I’m able to make a positive impact not only on the youth but also on my team, and that’s something I’m deeply proud of.”
