Types of Massage
Swedish Relaxation Massage
Swedish Massage is one of the most popular and widely practiced forms of therapeutic massage, designed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension. Using long, flowing strokes, gentle kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction, and light stretching, this massage helps reduce stress while enhancing overall physical and mental well-being.
Ideal for individuals new to massage therapy or those seeking relaxation, Swedish Massage uses light to moderate pressure to ease muscle tension, improve flexibility, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes. Each session is customized to meet the client’s comfort level and wellness goals.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a therapeutic massage technique designed to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Using slow, focused strokes and firm pressure, this treatment helps release chronic muscle tension, break down adhesions (commonly known as “knots”), and improve mobility. It is especially beneficial for individuals experiencing persistent pain, recovering from physical activity, or dealing with postural imbalances.
Unlike a relaxation massage, deep tissue massage focuses on specific areas of discomfort to restore muscle function and reduce tension. While some areas may feel more intense during treatment, your massage therapist will adjust the pressure to ensure it remains effective and within your comfort level.
Myofascial Massage
Myofascial Massage is a specialized hands-on therapy that focuses on relieving tension and restrictions within the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, joints, nerves, and organs throughout the body. When fascia becomes tight or restricted due to injury, repetitive movement, poor posture, or stress, it can contribute to pain, stiffness, limited mobility, and decreased physical performance.
During a myofascial massage session, a licensed massage therapist uses sustained, gentle pressure and slow stretching techniques to release fascial restrictions and restore healthy movement patterns. Unlike traditional massage, myofascial techniques target the connective tissue rather than focusing solely on the muscles.
Trigger Point Therapy Massage
Painful, irritated areas in muscles are worked using concentrated finger pressure on specific contact areas to break the cycle of spasm and pain. Often an entire area (trigger points) can be relaxed with the release of the various trigger points. 60/90 minutes
