Why donate to the YMCA of Frederick County? Because when you donate, you are helping your community. Each year, the YMCA provides financial assistance to the Frederick community. To do this, we depend on charitable donations. Below you can see all of the different ways you can help the YMCA of Frederick County support the community.
Campaign for Kids
Every day, the YMCA of Frederick County serves as a gathering place for the community. Kids pour in after school to play and do homework. Seniors meet for swimming, group activities and to connect with one another. To ensure that the Y can continue to provide Frederick residents with life enhancing services, the YMCA of Frederick County asks the community for support in our annual Campaign for Kids. Funds raised for Campaign for Kids will support camps, membership, and childcare.
The YMCA Foundation
The YMCA Foundation was established in 2009 to support the endowment fund of the YMCA of Frederick County. Donations to the YMCA endowment fund are not intended for current spending; rather they are invested and the YMCA will benefit from future earnings from those investments. Investment income that is not used is reinvested back into the fund. Corpus funds would only be used in cases of extreme circumstances through action of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Frederick County.
Making a gift to the endowment fund is one of the most significant gestures of support for our mission that an individual or family can make to the YMCA of Frederick County.
Your gift to the endowment fund helps make our community a safe and healthy place for children and families for generations.
The YMCA Foundation has two giving clubs – the Heritage Club for donors who have pledged at least $1,000 per year for ten years and the Legacy Society for those who have made a planned gift to the YMCA.
Giving Through the United Way
The YMCA of Frederick County is a proud member of the United Way of Frederick County. When you give to the United Way – be sure to designate your donation to the YMCA (Agency #25)
