Cecchetti Ballet
Cecchetti Ballet is an internationally acclaimed classical ballet style. Students apply instruction toward examination on knowledge of ballet theory and dance skill ability. Cecchetti I
This class is for students ages 8-14 who will need approximately 100 classroom hours (2.5 years) to learn pre-set material. Students must pass teacher assessment before examination. Students will attend class with full presence. Students must be attentive, self disciplined and prepared. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Students must wear black leotard. Students should take an additional ballet class weekly. This class may be part of a preparation for pointe work curriculum.
Cecchetti II
Teacher recommendation and student passed Grade I. Students ages 8-14 need approximately 100 classroom hours (2.5 years) to learn pre set material. Students must pass teacher assessment before examination. Students will attend class with full presence. Students must be attentive, self disciplined and prepared. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Students must wear black leotard. Students should take an additional ballet class. This class is essential for students attending Pointe class.
Cecchetti III w/ Pointe
This class is for students ages 12-18 who need approximately 100 hours of instruction (2.5 years) to learn preset material. Student must pass teacher assessment before examination. Students attend weekend ballet conferences. Students display maturity and professional behavior. Students wear black leotard and hair in classical bun. Students need no prompting from instructors about behavior expectations. Students attend 3 additional ballet classes. This class is essential for Junior Pointe students.
*Cecchetti III/IV Can be taken in the 2nd year of study of Cecchetti III.
Intermediate and Jr Ballet
Teacher recommendation necessary. New students must arrange an audition. Students have a minimum of 2 years of previous classical ballet training. Students are ages 9-18 years old. Curriculum is based upon Cecchetti Classical Ballet Method. Fast paced class includes pirouettes and combinations of allegro. Students understand correct muscle use for turnout, alignment and foot work. Dancers are now aware of performance skills and artistic development. Instruction is delivered with French terminology. Students will attend class with full presence. Students must be attentive, self disciplined and prepared. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Additional practice is encouraged. Students are required to study one additional ballet, modern or Cecchetti Ballet class weekly. Can be part of a curriculum to prepare for pointe. Also see YMCA Youth Ballet.
Intermediate and Jr Pointe
Students must attend Ballet and Cecchetti exam classes in conjunction with pointe class.
