Open Mic Night (Vocal/Instrumental)

Rick Hill, folk musician and songwriter, will host a new Open Mic at the Y Arts Center, 115 E. Church St. Frederick, MD on Friday, November 11 from 7-9 PM. A $5 donation is requested. This will be all acoustic, no sound system will be used.
There will be 12 slots available. Sign-ups begin at 6:30 on Friday. Each act will get two songs or 10 minutes.
Since November 11 is Veterans Day, performers may want to do a song honoring our veterans. As the closing song, all of the evening’s performers will be asked to join together and sing “America the Beautiful.”
F.A.M.E. ran the Open Mic at Sky Stage, but with winter pressing in, they wanted a place that was heated and covered. Frederick Acoustic Music Enterprise (F.A.M.E.) and the YMCA of Frederick County are collaborating to offer local musicians an opportunity to get in front of a crowd and perform. The Y Arts Center has a fantastic room with great acoustics, so no sound system is needed.
