The Y, For AllFinancial Assistance
How Assistance Works
Financial assistance is available for YMCA memberships and many programs, including childcare, before and after school care, and summer camp. Awards are based on household income, family size, and available funding, and are designed to be flexible and confidential. All families applying for a childcare or BASE scholarship must also apply for the Maryland Child Care Scholarship.
Our team works with each applicant to determine an appropriate level of support, ensuring families can participate while maintaining program sustainability. Assistance is applied directly to membership or program fees.

Programs We Support
YMCA financial assistance helps families and individuals access essential programs that promote learning, safety, and wellness. This includes early learning and childcare, school-age enrichment, summer camps, swim lessons, youth sports, and health and wellness programs for all ages.
By supporting access to these services, the Y strengthens families, builds confidence in youth, and improves community health across Frederick County.

Powered by Community Support
Financial assistance is funded through the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, endowment gifts, and special events. Each year, more than $600,000 in scholarships are awarded to help children and families access programs and services they need.
Every contribution—large or small—helps ensure the Y remains open and accessible to all.
