The Tidal Force Winter Swim Team Championship season has been a wonderful success. Our swimmers attended 4 meets in which 15 team records were broken.
- We had 141 athletes participate at the C & P Championship. During the event, 219 best times were achieved. We are pleased to announce the YMCA of Frederick County’s Tidal Force Swim Team (FCY) placed 3rd overall at this meet.
- For the 8 and Under Mini Championship Meet, we had 13 swimmers who ventured out to compete in the snow and swam a very successful meet. Our swimmers placed in the top 10, in 19 events; with swimmers Catherine Rivera and James Mokashi being the top scorers and first place achievers for FCY.
- We had four swimmers attend the 14 and under LSC Championship Meet in Saint Mary’s MD. Two of our swimmers Rachael Bostian and Alex Hain returned to swim in final events. During the finals events Rachael Bostian dropped 25 seconds in the 1650 to finish on the podium in second place.
- There were 33 swimmers that competed in our final league competition for the season- the District Championship Meet. Our Boys’ team swam a phenomenal meet finishing third overall. By the completion of the meet, 20 of our 33 swimmers scored points for the team.
Our season will culminate with the YMCA Short Course Nationals Meet at the beginning of April where 1,400 YMCA swimmers will come together to compete against each other on a national scale. Congratulations to Kathryn Pressly and Alex Hain for qualifying for this remarkable event!
Our team has been so blessed this season with the parent volunteers who have stepped up and supported the swimmers. Thank you for making the season so successful for all the swimmers in the league!
