Brianna Santiago and Hannah Wallace of the YMCA’s School of Dance Junior Company have both been accepted into summer dance intensive programs!
Brianna will be attending the Dance Theatre of Harlem at CityDance, which is a challenging ballet summer intensive within the style of this iconic American dance company. Daily training includes ballet, pointe, and the allied arts – modern, contemporary, jazz and African, as well as, full classical and contemporary technique classes.
Hannah will be attending the Koresh & CityDance’s Vaganova for the 21st Century which provides intensive summer dance training experience in the hard-hitting, powerful and challenging Koresh style. This intensive features contemporary technique training with repertory experiences and improvisation/composition workshops created by Ronen Koresh, Artistic Director of Koresh Dance as well as classical ballet technique, variations and ensemble.
Each of these programs are two weeks long and dancers will present their classical repertoire, contemporary pieces, and workshop creations in two exciting black box performances on the last day of the intensive.
