Tidal Force Logo - BlackNPurpleThe Frederick County YMCA Tidal Force swim team participates in both a summer and a winter league. We compete as a team in scored, dual meets as well as optional invitational meets throughout both seasons. Our team is a competitive swimming program that promotes youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Participants build character values through personal improvement, training, goal-setting, teamwork and competition. In between the winter and summer seasons, the Team offers a competitive stroke clinic to keep swimmers active. In addition we offer a USA swimming option for our swimmers. 

FCY Tidal Force Swim Team is a well-respected and growing program that is proud of its swimming and coaching achievements, including:

  • Pro Series Qualifiers
  • USA Junior National Qualifiers
  • YMCA Nationals A, B and C Finalists (Short Course and Long Course)
  • YMCA Top 16
  • USA Swimming Top 16
  • NCAA Division I Scholarship recipients
  • USA Swimming Sectionals participants & AAAA achievers
  • Maryland Swimming Top 5

**Please note: All summer team members will be given priority sign-ups for the upcoming winter team.


Evaluations for new summer team swimmers will take place on the following dates, sign ups are available at the front desk:

Friday March 20 6:45-8:00 PM

Monday March 23 6:30-8:00

Wednesday March 25 6:30-8:00

Friday March 27 6:45-8:00

Our Summer Swim Team 2020 consists of seven practice groups as follows:

National Team

8-9 practices per wk (1.25-2 hours in length) and 2-3 cross training practices

Force

6-7 practices per wk (1.25-2 hours in length) and 2-3 cross training practices

Force Prep

3 practices per wk (1.25-1.5 hours in length) and 1-2 cross training practices

Rip Tide

3 practices per wk (1-1.25 hours in length) and 1 cross training practice every other week

Low Tide

3 practices per wk

Ripples

3 practices per wk

Tidepool

2 practices per wk
