The YMCA of Frederick County is pleased to offer community programs focused on nutrition, culinary education and healthy cooking at its Teaching Kitchen located inside the Bernard Brown Community Center at 629 N. Market St.
Whether you’re a kitchen newbie, an entertainer extraordinaire looking to expand your repertoire or just seeking a new spin on classic recipes, our cooking classes are a fun way to learn and taste something new. When you cook with the Y, you are supporting the Y’s mission in our community. The Y will facilitate cooking classes for families, seniors, teens, adults and youth. We work with the local Y Farmer’s Market to promote the use of fresh produce and community supported agriculture. The Y Teaching Kitchen’s culinary programs empower individuals and families with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make healthy, affordable meals, supporting healthier eating habits in our community.
