Recreational Gymnastics

YMCA gymnastics classes are designed to build confidence and skills in a safe environment

These classes will focus on general body awareness, skills, developing strength and endurance. For a complete description of classes, including class times and fees, please click below to view our current program guide.

Little Beginners

This Co-Ed class is for ages 5 and 6. It provides progressive beginner level instruction in tumbling, bars, beam, floor, rings, and more.

Beginners

This class is for girls age 6 and older and includes beginner-level instruction in floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beam, and vault.

Advanced Beginners

This class is for girls age 6 and older and includes advanced beginner-level instruction in floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beam, and vault. Prerequisite: Good cartwheel and previous gymnastics instruction.

Intermediate

This class is for girls age 6 and older and requires instructor approval before registering. Intermediate-level instruction in floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beam, and vault.

Advanced

This class is for girls age 7 and older and requires instructor approval before registering. Advanced-level instruction in floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beam, and vault.

Jr. Boys, Ages 6-8

Progressive instruction using a variety of gymnastics equipment.

Sr. Boys, Ages 9 and Up

Progressive instruction using a variety of gymnastics equipment.

Private Lessons

The Y offers thirty minutes of private gymnastics instruction to fit the skill needs for children ages 5 and older.
