Middle School Out-of-School Program

STARS is an After School Program for Middle School Students.

Tutoring & Academic Enrichment
Art & Humanities
Readiness Training for College & Careers
Service Learning & Community Service

The STARS program will support students from 5 Middle Schools during out of school times. This program is funded in part by the Frederick County Office for Children and Families, home of the Local Management Board.

Serving the following Middle Schools:
  • Crestwood
  • Gov. Thomas Johnson
  • Monocacy
  • Thurmont
  • West Frederick

Annual Registration Fee: $20
Monthly Activity Fee: $40

The monthly fee for the STARS program includes the following benefits:

  • All activity fees for daily enrichment services
  • Daily meal and/or supplemental snack
  • Field trip & transportation costs
  • Annual Youth Membership to the Y
    (Subject to active Daily/Weekly participation in the STARS program)
  • Access to the Y Leaders Club and Reach & Rise Mentoring programs


Financial Assistance available for families with a demonstrated need.


School Dismissal – 6:30pm
