From preschool to swim lessons, the YMCA of Frederick County focuses on the development of children at all ages through our programs that focus on our core causes – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
A great first full-day camping experience for the younger camper. Children will experience a full day of fun centered on weekly themes. Fun activities include arts and crafts, story time, outdoor adventures, water play and swimming.
In swim lessons, we use a combination of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. We offer infant and preschool lessons for children ages 6 months to 6 years.
The Y is the starting point for youth to learn about becoming and staying active, as they develop healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. Preschool Recreation classes give kids the chance to exert energy, try new things, make new friends and be kids!
Children from one to six years old can enjoy these fitness classes that combine music, songs, creative movement, gymnastics, and parachute play. Participants increase self-confidence and body awareness as well as develop large muscle skills.
These classes introduce children to creative movements, music, and basic techniques that help to improve coordination, self-awareness and group participation.
The YMCA of Frederick County is the county’s largest provider of child care programs, providing family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children’s healthy development. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial assistance available.
Our education programs are here to develop skills for classroom readiness: socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively. Programs include Preschool, before & after school care, head start, and reach and rise.
