The Y is the unparalleled cause for strengthening community because we are the community. We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
The Y is for everyone. Members and non-members alike are welcome at our facilities and to participate in our programs and events. We strive to never turn anyone away due to inability to pay. With that in mind, we offer financial assistance based on family size and income. In this way, Y programs and memberships are available to the entire community at all times. The amount of financial assistance we are able to provide also depends on the availability of funds raised during our annual Campaign for Kids. With the demand for financial assistance continuing to rise, we need your support during our annual campaign to ensure that no one who qualifies for assistance will ever be turned away.
Help us reach our goal for 2013
We all need the Y because our organization works every day to nurture the potential of kids, improve health and well-being and help neighbors support one another. The YMCA of Frederick County is committed to making quality programs and facilities available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. From the proceeds of the Campaign for Kids, we cover a portion of program costs and offer financial assistance for memberships to the kids and families who need us most. It is only through the Campaign for Kids that we are able to offer financial assistance to anyone who demonstrates the need. 100% of donations to the Campaign for Kids are awarded to local families.
Our annual Campaign for Kids is just one way we are able to raise money so that families who rely on our financial support can succeed and thrive. This year, the YMCA of Frederick County hopes to raise $115,000. Funds raised for Campaign for Kids will support camps, membership, and childcare. How Your Gift Helps
Last year, over 572 financial aid scholarships, totaling more than $257,600, were given with the support of more than 261 donors to our annual campaign. Even so, demand for financial assistance continued to rise throughout our community. That is why we need you, your family and your friends to help us by making a donation, renewing your annual gift or by helping involve other people you know in our campaign effort. Only with your help can we ensure that no one who qualifies for assistance is ever turned away from Y programs and services.
