Active Older Adults
The Y has fitness classes specifically designed for older adults. These classes give participants an opportunity to become or stay physically active. 55+ Total Training
For ages 55 and older, this strength training balance and mobility program is designed specifically to meet the needs of the active older adult.
Low impact cardio but not low intensity! For the participant who wants a total body workout without the high impact of traditional aerobic classes.
Tai Chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching.
Gentle yoga combining deep breathing with gentle stretching, with a focus on restorative poses. Beginner and intermediate levels offered.
This hour-long program focuses on shallow water walking for those who want to exercise on their own without stress or impact.
Warm Water Exercise
This class is a 55-minute warm water recreational exercise program designed specially for people with arthritis but is appropriate for anyone requiring a low impact exercise program.
Ai Chi is a form of Tai Chi performed in warm water. A 30-minute class with simple exercises and relaxation, this program uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of arms, legs, and torso.
This 55-minute low-impact class is designed specifically for those with limited mobility, injury, or for those who have not exercised in a long time.
Swimming for ages 55 and older where seniors can enjoy a relaxing swim or senior volleyball three days a week.
