Financial Assistance

The YMCA wants to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in our programs and enjoy the facilities and services. Financial assistance is available for memberships, child care, and summer camp programs for individuals and families with financial need. Funds for financial assistance are made available through the generous contributions of friends to the YMCA through the Annual Campaign for Kids, Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction, and our endowment funds.

Financial Assistance Process

There are two different ways to request financial assistance. If you are interested in obtaining financial assistance for membership only, simply download the financial aid application and return the completed application to the front desk.

If you are interested in obtaining financial assistance for child care, you must first apply to the Department of Social Services at 301-631-2687 for Purchase of Care (POC). Families who do not qualify for DSS programs may apply for YMCA financial aid, but please note that a DSS denial letter must accompany YMCA application.

Download a financial assistance application, or pick one up at the YMCA front desk. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing completed applications. For more details, please call 301-663-5131 x 1287.
