Aquatics

Our aquatics programs teach people of all ages to enjoy being in the water, to be safe in the water, and pursue swimming for fitness.

In our water fitness classes, we offer a variety of in-water exercise programs for children and seniors, as well as water-based therapies for arthritis and other ailments.

Learn how to keep others safe in the water with our Lifeguard / CPR / FirstAid training. Participants learn how to prevent drowning, perform rescues, resuscitate unconscious victims, and treat injuries incurred both in and out of the water.

Swimming lessons at the Y include infant-parent classes, preschool classes, school-age classes and adult swim lessons. We also offer programs for people with disabilities including classes for the deaf or hearing impaired. Private swim lessons are also available.

The Frederick YMCA swim team, “Tidal Force,” competes in both summer and winter leagues, and offers stroke clinics as well. Team members are grouped into four levels of experience, to ensure that all swimmers enjoy the thrill of competition.

Pool rentals: Make a splash by renting our Teaching Pool for pool parties and special gatherings.
